I also had a love/hate relationship with texting because it was laborious and because each sent and received text msg cost 10 to 20cents. We didn't have unlimited calls or msgs! I'm glad disconnecting helped you enjoy the present more so than usual. It's a good reminder to all of us to disconnect to connect.
